Was project management done right?
We are told that most projects fail.
Above 60%
But, i never seen a FAILED project manager
Hm.....
This is interesting.
Also, I heard a great perspective on this:
"Projects can fail even when project management was done right."
A project failure is defined as ending the project with one or more of the following to include
Missed deadlines
Project Budget overruns
Failure to deliver on Project scope basline
Failing to deliver value
Using proven project management methods can not guarantee a 100% project success.
However, using proven methodology, many cases “predictive”, can minimize the level of the failure. Many projects fail.
But in my opinion, there are levels of failure.
Ownership falls into Organization but responsibility with Project Manager.

👥 Every Project Manager should have a Mentor
A mentor’s advice can impact your career and help protect your projects from crash-and-burn.
15 years project management experience; 8 positions; 6 mentors so far;
Mentoring is one of the best ways to gain insight on a career path.
Here is my short list how you can be the BEST MENTOR:
➡️ Set clear expectations
If you’re a mentee, it’s vital to “start with an end in mind of knowing exactly what it is you want help or guidance.
➡️ Provide support and guidance
A strong measure of the mentor’s effectiveness can be seen through the success of the mentee and of his or her project.
➡️ Share your experience
The mentor needs to help the mentee to recognize his or her strengths, interests and areas for improvement.
➡️ Appreciate
The most effective project managers are developed day-to-day, not year-to-year or project mistake-to-project mistake. Mistakes will happen, even with the best of mentoring. However, project managers with strong mentors should find their effectiveness continually improving.
