🦸♂️The Agile Mindset for CAPM and PMP exams.
Mastering the following 20 Agile Mindset principles requires your understanding to pass CAPM and PMP exams.
These principles will help you better understand the Agile logic/mindset established PMI.
So, here is the "Secret Sauce":
▶ Be a servant leader to the team at all times. This includes empowering the team and removing any impediments.
▶ Only the product owner can prioritize the features in the product backlog. If the product owner refuses to do so because they feel all of them are valuable, then you must train them on the benefits of doing so. DO NOT prioritize the features yourself, this is the job of the product owner.
▶ Colocation is a default rule. Agile can only be delivered if we are all colocated.
▶ Face to face communications with a white board and markers are the best form of communications.
▶ Provide agile teams with lots of wall space so they can write on them and use sticky notes.
▶ Information should always be radiated through the use of large charts and graphs, such as the use of a burnup or burn down chart.
▶ Any problem that occurs on a project should be resolved by the project team. Always let the project team choose a solution while coaching and supporting their solutions.
▶ Provide a safe environment for disagreements. Do not punish anyone for having a difference of opinion.
▶ Understand that conflicts are a positive step and opportunity to learn.
▶ Try to limit the work in progress through the use of the Kanban. Kanban boards should be displayed either on a large whiteboard or less desirable large monitor.
▶ Consistently communicate and re-communicate the project vision to the team.
▶ Understand the needs of your team members and find out what may motivate them
▶ Make sure people understand what failure and success will look like on the project.
▶ Be a central figure to the team, not a dictator.
▶ Have good ethical values
▶ Review the methods work was completed by doing a retrospective
▶ Utilize feedback loops. Feedback loops occur when you’ve completed the task and then take what you’ve learned from that and input the lessons learned into your next task.
▶ You never plan for overtime and it is never a good solution
▶ There is no CCB or CR process on Agile projects
▶ There is no WBS on Agile projects

Leadership is the most talked about topic in today's world which makes it worthy to discuss it here.
Leadership is not everyone's cup of tea. But it’s not difficult either. Here are some 30 skills that can help you demonstrate the leader in you. Yes! There is a leader in each one of us. Leadership is not attached to titles, positions or ranks. It is a quality that is often seen as inbuilt or inherited but need not necessarily be so. It can be achieved by learning & growing in & demonstrating skills which are typically attributed to this quality.
1. Lead by example - Be a doer; be a performer; Be the one to put your hand up if a complex problem requires solution
2. Learner - Be willing to learn, unlearn and relearn things as you grow. Learning should never stop
3. Listener - Listen not to reply but to understand. Listen not because you have ears but because you have heart & brain; Listen to process what is being said
4. Encourage - Motivate others around you to bring the best out of them. Motivation is contagious, it spreads. And it brings the best in you as an individual & leader
5. Empower - Trust the people around you with their capabilities to get the work done & empower them to do so. Believe in them & their abilities.
6. Enabler - Be the one who makes "doing things" possible. Go past road blocks & dead ends. Find ways to make things work, make outcomes happens.
7. Achiever - Aim, Plan, Act, Achieve. Be an achiever of set goals no matter how small or big those are.
8. Approachable - Be the one who can be easily approached, spoken to, consulted with, sought help from without giving yourself too much air.
9. Adaptable - Change is permanent. Be proactive to predict change & flexible to accept & act on change.
10. Dependable - Be a reliable team member, family member, colleague or friend. Be the one, others can count on.
11. Determined - Stay firm on your intent and decision to achieve the objectives set
12. Diligent - Show the care & dedication in your effort towards the set goals
13. Ethical - This goes without saying. Be ethical at all times. Always. Non ethical person cannot be a good leader.
14. Empathetic - Be cognizant of other's emotions & feelings. Have emotional intelligence quotient as high as possible.
15. Engage - Involve everyone in the event or activity which ensures their buy in into the goals & objectives
16. Resilient - Not getting bogged down by failures and having ability to bounce back into action quickly is an important skill for demonstrating leadership
17. Receptive - Be open & welcoming to ideas, suggestions, inputs from others around you. Being receptive will attract more people to come to you and share thoughts & ideas
18. Responsible - Shouldering & delivering responsibility towards positive outcomes, time & again makes you dependable & reliable
19. Supportive - Be helpful and supportive towards weaker elements. Also be welcoming & supportive towards changes. Unsupportive behavior sway away people & opportunities.
20. Sincere - One of the most important attributes for a leader. Being sincere to self, to those around you, to your work, to your people.
21. Storyteller - This focuses on communication. Storytelling is an art which one must excel at to help people align with your thoughts, vision, goals & objectives. It also helps in motivating & encouraging people in times of low.
22. Humble - Take pride in & be proud of what you do, but stay humble in your approach.
23. Helpful - Having a helpful nature or willingness to help, makes it easier for you to become supportive & enabler for others.
24. Harmonious - Choose understanding over conflict, communication over silos & agreement & peace over discord.
25. Innovative - Dwell on & encourage innovation & experiments without the fear of failure in solving complex problems of the common.
26. Inspire - Have a personality, behavior, qualities & presence in such a way that people look up to you as a role model.
27. Impartial - Without any biases, without any favoritism, be impartial towards everyone around. Do not let preconceived notions & prejudices over weigh fairness.
28. Problem Solver - Problems and complexities exist everywhere. Being a problem identifier & solver, gives you an edge over those who simply crib about the problem & do nothing about it.
29. Persuasive - Important skill when it comes to negotiations & managing people. Being persuasive without being pushy and without using force is a skill rooted for leadership.
30. Practical - Having a practical approach towards life, work & those around you is a quality that goes a long way in being a leader. Not being impulsive, not getting triggered & not making decisions based on emotions are all ways of being logical, rational & practical.
With these 30 skills, one can demonstrate 3X leadership at any place, any time, any environment without the need for having titles, ranks & designations.
