How to avoid scope creep
Like most project managers, you're probably juggling multiple projects, demanding stakeholders, and a never-ending to-do list.
However, there's a daunting challenge that can undermine your hard work faster than anything else: scope creep.
Those "small changes", evolving requirements, and persistent delays can accumulate, jeopardizing your project's success and tarnishing your reputation as a PM.
I get it. I've been there myself.
Here are three ways you can avoid scope creep:
✅ Define Clear Project Objectives and Requirements. Establish clear and concise project objectives at the outset. Ensure that all stakeholders have a shared understanding of the project scope, deliverables, and success criteria.
✅ Engage Stakeholders Early and Often: Involve key stakeholders in project discussions from the beginning and regularly communicate project progress and decisions. Encourage open dialogue to address concerns and potential scope changes proactively.
✅ Monitor Progress Closely: Monitor project progress closely against the established plan and objectives. Track tasks, milestones, and budget expenditures to identify any deviations from the original scope and address them promptly.
You're One Good Decision Away
The beautiful thing about life is that no matter where you are today—no matter how deep in the darkness—you are always just one good decision away from being in a better place tomorrow.
Don't worry about the hundreds or thousands of decisions that you still have to make to get to where you want to be—just focus on the next decision.
Failures, mistakes, and slips are inevitable on the journey, but if you can avoid the Compound Mistake—avoid stacking negatives—you'll always find a way to win.

In Case You Missed It:
In previous issues I wrote about the most important focus are of the Strong Project Manager:
Leveraging AI in Project Management: Projects are executed in various domains, but the common thread is that they are not operations; therefore, there are plenty of unknowns. One outcome of utilizing AI in project management is that it removes the biases that sometimes direct specific actions on a particular path.
What Effective Project Management means? Effective Project Management is a combination of different skill sets of soft and "technical" skills.
